Field Institute of Taos: After School and Nature Art Groups ~ NeoRio HOME Featured Artists

This piece was created by a group of five kids who love the mountains and who’ve been making nature based artwork under the guidance of Malia Reeves, through Field Institute of Taos. They see planet Earth, the mountains and the forest as home. They chose to show a camping scene “because that is what we think of as a group when we think of Home.”

This piece was created by a group of second and third graders, who were attending an outdoors after school program with the Field Institute of Taos, a local nonprofit organization, encouraging youth and community members to get outside since 1996. Program instructor, Cass Landrum reflects, “the true beauty of this project was the process of seven different, young children working together to build something for their new friend, Fred (a stuffed Pika).”
