Big Color Bash – Outdoor Painting Workshop
WildEarth Studio Workshop 2010 with John Wenger
May 9-15, 2010 flexible hours
Wild Rivers Recreation Area
Painter, John Wenger and Claire Long, our workshop synergy guide, are offering a unique painting experience for advanced artists. These 5 days of fun, artistic intensity and deluxe camping happens in and around Northern New Mexico’s premier canyon environments. Our base campsite will be at BLM’s Wild Rivers campground, where participants will select and pay for their own camping site. Meals at the Weasel bus kitchen are optional.
This outdoor studio experience will include an emphasis on rapid and prolific production, expressive color response plus layered pursuit and eradication strategies. Other concerns to be investigated include the relationship of drawing qualities within the painted veneer. As well as notions about how artists might weave a significance and larger intent concerning our natural and pristine environments. Perhaps we can even discover how contemporary artists and their great works can be in the service of ideas and issues of our times. Daily gatherings in support of workshop goals and artworks will be customary.
